10 Reasons Why You Need a Mobile Personal Trainer

Let me start this blog with a little story...

During my time at uni in my second year I was doing an exercise rehabilitation subject which I was pretty great at! At the time I was super passionate about that area as I believed I was heading towards the rehabilitation world...

I got pretty close with my tutor of that subject and we sat down one day after a lesson where we discussed my next steps in my future, career and life. At the time I had a desire to become a physiotherapist working in clinic. He gave me a piece of advice that has truly changed my life...

He questioned my passion knowing my knowledge and love of his subject and pushed me to try out personal training. 'Give it a crack' was the line he used which for those that know me when I am set a challenge I steamroll it.

He notified me that by the end of my second year I would be fully qualified as a personal trainer so will not have to do any courses in between. But the determination he gave me to just 'give it a crack' was enough for me to get it done early. So within weeks I was sitting in the back of his classroom completing my online personal trainer certificate which took me 3 months to do. It felt like revision in comparison to what I was doing at uni so I went with it. It did not sit right with me though as I believed my knowledge was worth more than a measly 3 months so I brought this up to my tutor. He said that is just how the industry is and the people that do those courses do not really last in the fitness world unless they are driven enough to learn more. He said this uni degree will give you enough of a knowledge boost to set you up for success as a personal trainer. I believed him and carried on. By August I got my first job as a mobile personal trainer and was floored. I was getting rejected more than I would on a night out and on top of that, the clients I did have did not even care about my 'scientific knowledge'. I brought this up to my tutor again... He said throw out your knowledge and keep it to yourself. I believe you would be a great PT because of the person I see in the classroom not the assessments you complete. That was my first major shift. I decided I needed to be myself and just roll with it. I climbed the ranks at the company I was at and within 2 years I was offered a state managerial position. Let us be honest and say I was still rejected and cancelled on but the success I created was big enough to out do this. Within those 2 years I experienced a whirlwind of emotions, a lot of highs and lows but I created a routine and a life that I could see myself living for the rest of my life. That was the best decision I have ever made and I have that tutor to thank for it! I do not think I will ever be going back to study physiotherapy as the love for personal training was formed the moment I got my first rejection and made it my dying wish to continue helping people no matter what happened. I realised one crucial difference between my field and that of a physiotherapists. A physio will only see you when you have an injury and even then probably only see you 1x/week for a short period of time. A personal trainer is in contact with you a lot more than that and can make a larger impact upon your health and fitness due to their ability to have a closer connection with their clients. My clients now have become part of my family and I currently have clients that have been with me for over 3+ sessions/week for the last 3 years. The impact I have been able to make with these people has been so immense I would never want to change that for routine quarterly check ins. So for me 'giving it a crack' has ended me in a position of running a business where I can teach and educate a team of health and fitness coaches to follow their dreams and set their own marks in a demanding industry. Personal trainers are not given enough of reputation, to me I can understand the horror stories however I would have to say this comes down to the industry board that allows such qualifications to pass through the cracks. At Dynamicrecov this is the passion that I bring to my team and I can assure you the coaches here all elicit this same passion for the industry as I do. Let me tell you the 10 reasons why you NEED a personal trainer! 1. Convenience at Your Doorstep Imagine having your personal trainer arrive at your doorstep, ready to guide you through your workout. No more commuting to the gym, waiting for your turn on the equipment, or dealing with crowded spaces. With a mobile personal trainer, convenience is just a step away. This for me was a turning point as being inside your home gave me the chance to understand your life on a personal level. Giving me more of an opportunity to help you make a change! 2. Personalised Workouts Your fitness journey is unique, and your workouts should reflect that. Mobile personal trainers create customised exercise routines tailored to your goals, fitness level, and any specific needs or limitations you may have. Any personal trainer can write out a generic program. But the person you let into your home or meet at your local park will have a connection with you so large the program that deliver will be just the right fit for your needs and wants! 3. Accountability and Motivation Staying motivated can be a constant struggle, but a mobile personal trainer acts as your personal cheerleader. They hold you accountable for your workouts, making it less likely for you to skip sessions, helping you reach your fitness milestones. Even at the crack of dawn you can expect a cheerful person rocking up at your doorstep. For myself I start my days at 4:30am and would normally have trained before I even meet you. This can not be said for everyone but I would say mobile personal trainers have the energy to put you in that mindset no matter what time it is! 4. Flexible Scheduling Life can be unpredictable, and fitting workouts into a rigid schedule can be challenging. Mobile personal trainers offer flexibility in scheduling, ensuring that you can exercise at a time that suits you best. The beauty of mobile personal training is there is no time barriers other than calendar matching. A gym may have rules or closing times but each trainer will have their own schedules. I am sure you know matching 2 schedules is a lot more of a smoother process than matching 3... 5. Privacy and Comfort Working out in the comfort of your own home or a location of your choice provides a level of privacy and comfort that traditional gyms may not offer. No need to worry about feeling self-conscious; it's just you and your trainer. Having 1 person guide you is all you need and better yet they are a professional. Basically like having an in house professional training buddy that makes sure everything you are doing is correct and in line with your goals! Walking into a public space or gym can be a daunting experience for many that is where mobile personal trainers come in. 6. Goal-Centric Training If you have specific fitness goals in mind, such as weight loss, muscle gain, or improved athletic performance, a mobile personal trainer can design a training program focused on achieving those goals effectively. Once inside your home everything a mobile personal trainer will be doing with you has a purpose and is centred around a goal. This means that every exercise, every program is tailored to you and you specifically. Being in the comfort of a location of your choosing means everything you learn will be tailored to your environment which you are in daily! Use that to its advantage. 7. Adaptability to Different Locations Whether you prefer working out at a park, your office, or even your local beach, mobile personal trainers can adapt workouts to diverse settings, making exercise more exciting and engaging. Being adaptable is one of the best skills of a mobile personal trainers. In my years all I had to work with was tree branches, park benches or even 1 singular pole for a full workout. I made it work and I am sure most mobile personal trainers can too that is what we are there for. Modifying environments to suit your needs and achieve your goals! 8. Time and Cost Efficiency Investing in a mobile personal trainer can save you time and money in the long run. Say goodbye to expensive gym memberships and time-consuming commutes. Your trainer brings the gym to you. Let me be honest having a personal trainer come to your home is expensive... However the costs that you save are more than financial. Think of the time it takes to go to your local gym, the time it takes for you to wait for equipment at that gym, the time it takes for you to greet or talk to the community at the gym. All of that is taken care of when your trainer arrives at your doorstep. Time is the most precious currency we have use that to your advantage. 9. Real-Life Success Stories You don't have to take our word for it. We've gathered inspiring success stories from individuals who have experienced the transformational power of mobile personal training. Learn how others have overcome obstacles and achieved their fitness dreams. One of my clients used to catch an uber to get from her doorstep to the train station which was a 5-10 minute walk away... This took her 3 years but take into account she also lost 75kg and has built herself up to single leg squats, pull-ups and is becoming a coach herself! One of my favourite stories to tell in my career and that could be YOU! 10.
